Okay, maybe you just want to learn how to play basketball, but being a superstar is still a nice goal to achieve. Or maybe, you already know how to play but want to improve some aspects of your game like your shots or handles. Or who knows you might be here to raise your basketball IQ on or off the court.

Whatever it might be, you’re lucky you’ve stumbled upon this site because Teach-Yourself-Basketball.com is for everyone and covers everything basketball. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro you’ll be amazed by how much you can learn and improve your game.

For kids… you would be lucky to start learning how to play basketball at your age because you will master the fundamentals much sooner than most people.

Think of yourselves as clay and while you are young, you’re easy to mold into an amazing “statue” but as you get older you harden up. So reading through this whole site and following the tips and drills will “mold” you perfectly.

For teens… you either like basketball a lot and play it or you don’t like basketball and barely play it. If not these, you might want to play basketball but don’t know how.

Whatever one of these categories you fall into, you can get a lot out of this site. We’ll try to make you enjoy the game and hopefully, make you one of the best among your peers. It's time to stop getting picked last at school.

For adults… although it might be harder to learn how to play basketball now, it’s never too late. Even if you have to work harder to perfect everything it is going to pay off.

For example, you can spend time teaching your kids how to play basketball or you can spend quality time playing with them. Maybe you’ll find watching basketball games much more enjoyable now that you understand more about terms, rules and moves.

For coaches… hopefully this website we’ll make your job much easier. Instead of thinking up different drills every practice to have your players perform or tips to give them so that they can improve, you can come here and “steal” our ideas (don’t worry you won’t get in trouble).

I would also recommend you encourage your players to come and read the content on this site to help them practice at home.

So, are you ready to learn. All you need is patience and passion. You could choose to work on one part of this site but we recommend to read most of it (trust me, it’ll help tremendously). Although this site is called TeachYourselfBasketball.com, you have someone teaching you, but it’s still your responsibility to want to learn.

Think of me as your mentor, who’s gone through the same things you might have went or are going through. It would be me pleasure to help you learn how to play basketball.
